If you are interested in Resonator Guitars and would like to buy or sell a resonator, please contact me and I will try to help you. Before you buy you should -

1) View
2) Understand the differences
3) Try before you buy

Guitar House55 specialises in Resonator guitars. I keep a good stock of all the popular designs and models. I normally have around 6 - 8 different resonators in stock at any time. My stock changes as guitars come and go, so contact me and let me know what you want to buy or sell. I believe I have the largest number of resonators on display in a single premises in the North East. This means that you can try all the different types and compare them both acoustically and electrically.

The wood bodied resonators give a mellow sound, while the metal bodied guitars give a bright, aggressive blues sound. Some have pickups fitted so that they can be played through an amplifier. Different pickup configurations have very different amplified sounds. Tri-cone resos sound different to single cone instruments, and spider bridge instrruments sound different to biscuit bridge resos.

If this all sound rather confusing that's a very good reason not to buy one on the Internet. Instead come and let me demonstrate the different types of reso and explain the differences. you can then try the various instruments and see which type suits your music ideas.

If you would like to sell a guitar -

Please contact me and let me know about the guitar you wish to sell. I will look at your guitar and (if I like it) make an offer which will hopefully be realistic and acceptable to both of us, bearing in mind the influence of the internet on both new and used guitar prices. I am primarily interested in resonator guitars, but will consider any guitar if it is interesting to me.
